AICD Adult Assessment Programme Syllabus
As a result of numerous requests from teachers, the A.I.C.D. has created an ‘Adult Assessment Programme’. This programme is aimed at the Adult Ballet student and is designed for people who have no training in classical ballet, those who have been part of adult ballet classes for a year or two, or individuals returning to ballet after a hiatus of many years. It has an age focus of pre-adult (16/17), through to the more mature-aged student. The lists of steps within the programme have been compiled as a guideline to assist teachers in constructing classes for Adult Assessment. Please remember that they are a guide only and may be varied to suit the needs of teachers and students. The programme currently has six levels. However, the A.I.C.D. will continue to monitor and develop the course and it is anticipated that new levels will be added in the future.
Assessments can be arranged in each state by contacting the A.I.C.D. National examination/assessment body. The assessment; which can be held at any time during the year, is an extension of the normal class teachers’ conduct with their adult students. On successful completion of each assessment, candidates will receive a written report and a certificate. We aim to provide encouraging and constructive assessments that will be beneficial to all.
